Just fun!

I love days like today! Other than one appointment, I or we, did not have to be anywhere, do anything at any specific time.

This has been one of my challenges because I have been a schedule person for the last...oh....thirty five years or something!

Since retirement, I have been trying to get us on some type of schedule. As my DH said yesterday, "babe that is the joy of retirement, no schedule!" It has been fun ever since :)

Some snaps from today...

70* in February?

It has put me in the mood for flowers, which of course is ridiculous considering the temps will plunge down into the 30's and snow is in the forecast.

But where there is a will, there is a way...and a sale!

I have never had much success with orchids and was just talking with my sister about this the other day. She hasn't either. But as I was out shopping today, I saw this miniature orchid that was so beautiful and springy, I couldn't pass by. Oh, especially as it was on a clearance sale!

My other bargains of the day was yarn for a new hoodie for my grandson "O" or as I like to call him, The Little Man!

I think he will look pretty cool in it when the weather warms up this spring for good!

Ok back out the door to enjoy the warm breezes for a little while longer!

Random Pictures Of My Day

...At least the moments that I choose to dwell on!
First some yarn dyed with Queen Anne's Lace.

Flowers in a neighbors garden. Who says red, pink and purple don't go together?

Click on this one to really get the full effect! The flowers are gorgeous!

A single sunflower in all it's glory.

Zuchinni fresh from the garden.

And a Summer's night moon enjoyed from the front porch along with evening breezes. It almost looks like an eye looking back at us.

With an evening like this, it's off to sweet dream land for me. Have a good night, all!

Good Morning!

A little reminder for the pups and I of our early morning walk that will cheer us all through the day in the office. Just thought we would share!

Dogs on Thursday Post

This month has really flown by and I have so much to post about and pictures to share. But today's post is for the dogs!

Tuesday night was such a nice night that the pups and I decided to skip what needed to be done and just go for a plain old fashioned hike. So we did for two hours in the deep woods behind the house. It was so pleasant, warm, peaceful, serene. The pups had a really great time and when we returned home they were plain old fashioned tired out!

I will apologize in advance for the pictures because I didn't think to take my camera but did have the cell phone with me. Poor Sampson's pic didn't turn out at all as he was nothing but a blur so I will skip that one and just share the other three so maybe you can get a feeling of just how peaceful it was.

A purple trillium, rare around here.

The deep woods. I just love the ferns!

And so does Dew!
Happy Dogs on Thursday!

Skipped Spring and right into Summer

Wow has the weather been fabulous! The entire weekend and today in the 80's. I love it but everyone else has been "whew it's hot". 9 months we put up with frigid temps, rain and snow, and they can't tolerate 3 days of "nice"weather. Wimps. Just kidding! As my husbands says there is only so much he can take off where as I can keep adding layers.

I did get my peeps moved into a pen in the hen house. I don't know who is more freaked out, the older hens hearing strange noices coming from the pen in the other sections (seriously they didn't want to come in from their yard) or the peeps who now have a wire bottomed pen that they can see the floor wwwwaaaaaayyyyy down there. For the first 30 minutes they tried sitting on one another (the only solid objects besides the feed dishes). Once they saw the food go in they kind of forgot about the "drop".

The pups and I had another nice walk along a trout stream then the river. They had their bath on Saturday, so you know what they wanted to do today? Wade. In stinky river water. They looked up at me with a look that said, "Well it's HOT in this fur coat in this summer-like weather!" They dried off enough to get into the car.

One thing that I came across on the walk was a huge area simply covered with violets. The smell and site was beautiful, and I brought some back just to share with you...

Have a wonderful day!
