Dogs On Thursday Post

This is just a quick picture less post this morning. What? No pictures?!! Why you ask? Well it is because we have been so busy! We have been out walking, exploring, playing, and sleeping in!

For example last weekend when it was rainy and miserable and my hubby was away at a state archery meeting the hounds and I after a long walk Friday evening, came home and crashed. Literally. We were in bed by 7:30 PM and SLEPT clear though until 12:30 PM! Yep we even missed seeing reruns of the dog show on animal planet (can you believe that?).

All this week the weather has been so nice we have been on the bike trail every day on lunch break and another walk in the evening. It has been great!

I finally made a purchase from Drs. Fosters and Smith for a weight limitless retractable leash and sporn coupler dual walker. I am not going to mention what I paid for it. But it works! The issue was to be able to keep my speed up while walking the pups but allow them to still do their snuffling bit. Remember how I mentioned that when they are off lead they don't let me get more then say 15 feet away before they run and catch up. Well this will allow them to do that but keep them safe when walking on our country roads or the bike trail.

Well got to get to work (the pups too!) Happy DOT's!

  1. I hope the coupler works well for you. I tried it with my boys, and it was a nightmare... little Mugsy was always choking, trying to drag big ol' Fred along faster, and then Fred would nearly break Mugsy's neck when he stopped to smell the roses...

  2. The coupler doesn't work well for me because Jackson has to stop, sniff, mark and go but Sunny (girls are great) just walks. I do use the flexis to give them more freedom when we walk...It does help me keep up my pace
Hope it works well for you. Happy DOT

  4. If your dogs like to keep the same pace, the coupler should work for you. If you have a forge ahead and a slow sniff the grass type, you may need to do some training. Let us know hoe it goes.

  7. It is hard to take pup pictures, post and blog about them. Making sure they get plenty of walks and exercise is definately more important.

  8. Hi Tina
We are still on two seperate extending leads which means I get tied up a lot!
Looking forward to hearing how you get on with your new leads. I keep reading about various leads so good you are doing the field research!

  10. Would love to see photos of the coupler in action. I tried it on the big houndies when they were younger. Lucy likes to sniff in the ditch and beau likes to walk in the road. So she was always jerking him and he would stop and glare at me. We only did that once!

Do you take your kids to work with you? I wish I could take mine. If I moved into the big office I could, but I love my little office and who would I take? g
