Chapel of Divine Inspiration...

As we are between ministers right now, I thought I would attend a different style of service in observance of the sabbath.

I decided to visit the Chapel of Divine Inspiration. The Chapel of Divine Inspiration is in a remote location and does take some effort to get there from here.

I arrived early to get a good seat!

The architecture and structure of the chapel was completed by the Master Carpenter Himself...

with the attention to detail, intricate, and inspired.

I could tell right away this was a chapel of interdenominational faiths and had an open door policy, as I was greeted right off and made to feel at home by this gentleman...

Other attenders that put in an appearance, but were to bashful to have a photo, were a deer, a mom with the cutest little ground hog babies, numerous chipmunks and red squirrels, a rabbit and one river turtle.
The choir was in top form with solos performed by Cardinals, Cedar Wax Wings, Sparrows, Chickadees, Robins, Finches and a few others. Even though they had their own song the music was quite harmonious.

The teaching also was full of wisdom, truth, and touched the hearts of all who had an ear to hear...

Refreshments were made available all around for those who were interested, in the form of wild red raspberries, wild strawberries, ( I brought my own golden delicious apple and boiled egg) and for drink the coldest water.

After the service drew to a close, the ride home was just as peaceful and thought provoking. I think I will visit this chapel again some time soon.

However you chose to spend your Sunday, I hope it was as enjoyable and memorable for you!

Update on One Cackle Way...

It's been awhile since I posted on the peeps. All has been well in the hen house at One Cackle Way. The fortress has been exactly that, no murdering marauding raccoons here! The pecking order has been established, eggs are laid daily and a lot of growing has been going on. You may remember the peeps like this...

Then there was the move into the chicken coop "play" pen...
Then they graduated to the er "luxury suite"....at least that must be what they thought because this is what we saw next...

Nope, not dead! Dirt baths! (Chicken version of a mud treatment at a spa I guess!) Every single one of the 25 chicks as soon as they hit the floor started rolling, covering themselves with dust and dug a little hole in the dirt floor! I have raised chickens for most of my life, and have seen chickens dust themselves, but not en masse!
My hubby the one with a very dry sense of humor said: "Hey there sweetheart, um what kind of chickens did you say you ordered? Prairie chickens?" To which I replied "evidently!"

In this photo the chicks finally worked up enough nerve to venture into the chicken yard or as we call it the "Garden of Clucks" or the "Boulevard of Scratch & Peck".

Which brings us to the present day...

As you can see they are gaining in size on the one year old Rhode Island Red Hens.

Can you tell the roosters from the hens? There are four roosters that made it. ( One was DOA which isn't bad considering they arrive through the mail at one day old!) Give up? Maybe the next photo will help...

I really like their colors in the sun and the pattern of their feathers. Now maybe someone can help me out with this next one. This was our odd ball chick. It is very skittish. I have no clue whether it is a hen or rooster, or what kind it is. It kind of puts me in mind of an Araucana hen (spelling?). But I am not for sure. It has blue legs and a spot by its ear that is blue also...

Please leave a comment if you have any idea at all, it will be greatly appreciated! :D

Dogs on Thursday Post

This weeks' dog on Thursday is some random shots. Some not so good but you still get the idea...

This one is "ironic". Lord and Master of his home, sits on the floor so as not to disturb Princess Honey Dew. Then to add insult, she used his shoulder, as a pillow! 1, 2, 3, lets say it altogether, ahhhhhhhhhh!

Sampson is such a relaxed dog that he can sleep anywhere no matter what is going on. The positions he comes up with do not look like they would promote a very comfortable nap!

My granddog came to visit! He was here for a week. We miss him already, especially Sampson who thought he was his very own playmate! They had a blast! More pics about the visit in an upcoming post.

This pup was a real trooper at an herb festival held at Cooks' Forest that some friends and I went to. Here she was sitting very patiently while her mom was looking over the handcrafted jewelry. I thought she was cute and kind of posing for a picture so I obliged. (More about the herb festival later!)

The last thing that I wanted to remind everyone of was that "Slobberfest 2009" is coming up on July 11th. We had such a great time last year and are planning on going again this year. Just click here for more information. We hope to see you there!

Honey Dew says "Whatever."

Happy Dogs on Thursday!
